Taking that firststep is vital!

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” – Lao Tzu

Every time we set out to implement a huge change in our lives, or we set out to achieve a big dream, it seems to be a mountainous task. This is usually why we so often give up before we even try. How often do we say, “It’s impossible to achieve”, “there is no point even trying”, “there is no way I can do this”. It is so sad that we often become our own worst enemies – we always listen to our inner voice of doom and decide that we cannot achieve what we dream of. And then, we cut our journey short and do not even try.

But, here is an idea: Take that first step at least. The next time you have something in your mind, no matter how outrageous and impossible it seems, try to make a small change in your life (or career.) – you will then see how you are one small step closer to achieving it! If you want that entirely new line of profession, or that promotion, or that respect from your colleagues and supervisers, sit down and consider your course of action. What do you need to do in order to achieve this? What stops you right now from getting there? And, one at a time, remove these obstacles. Even if it means that one day you start by merely being friendlier and more willing to help your colleagues, or by starting to think of more effective ways of tackling long-standing issues at the office. One small step after another equally small one can take you much closer to your goal. And after a few more steps, or many more, you will get to your destination.

So here is your thought for this week: Whenever faced with an enormous task or dream, break it down and take it one small step at a time. And you’ll see how it is so much easier to go on and eventually succeed. n Eva hopes that everyone finds the strength and courage to try even the hardest of goals and be pleasantly surprised as to how possible everything is.

In Tune specialises in finance and accounting outsourcing, human resource (HR) outsourcing to SME business owners in Malaysia; that traditionally cannot afford professional services which they now can at a fraction of the cost less the headache; so that they have more time to focus on the business operations that matters to them.

Why hire an executive when you can now get at least one qualified professional with an executive at less than an executive pay?
